No-Limit Texas Hold'em Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five in which he liked betting on various card games when he was young. He found himself getting very aggressive in these card games while playing his dad. After finishing high school, Howard decided to place college on hold for a little bit and headed to New York City to compete in some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard's 1st 2 years were rough as he would play countless hours and lost a majority of the time. He earned some additional cash by being an runner for the poker players. He believed he could better his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He brought about an attempt to get more rest and focus even more on the game.The actual improvement in his abilities happened when he started playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable gamblers would often play against one another. Howard was able to access some of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, he would tweak his cunning thinking abilities. Howard used these strategic ideas in the game of No-Limit holdem.
Howard Lederer also helped his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was a great student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the proper decision. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to head out to Sin City and compete in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the best female players the poker world ever. Howard moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and competed in cash games for the following 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to play more tournaments.
